My name is John Krueger and I am the owner/operator of Circle Brook Farm in Sussex County, NJ.

In 2006 I was chosen to be the farmer for the CSA in Jersey City, Jersey City Harvest, formerly Downtown Harvest.
​
In November of 2013, thanks to the generous support of many CSA members I was able to turn a long time dream of owning my own farm into a reality. I have purchased the 80 acre property known as Circle Brook Farm. This has been my home for the last 7 years and now will be for the rest of my days.
It is a sustainable operation producing nutritious food for as many folks as possible with a minimum of external inputs. But more than this it will be your farm. A place for CSA members and market customers to visit; a place to bring your children to teach them the source of their food.

I love to have my CSA members visit the farm and especially families with young children. It is so important for them to learn about where their food comes from and make a connection to the earth. I enjoy giving tours, explaining how we plant and grow the crops, and answering questions. I am hopeful that we will be able to host a Harvest Festival in late September or early October. In the meantime, I will offer tours on Sunday afternoons in June, July, and August on days when we will host volunteer days. These will be an opportunity for members to help with harvesting labor-intensive crops like peas, beans, garlic, and onions. For these volunteer days members should let me know directly by e-mail of their intention to attend. Please RSVP by e-mail during the week prior to the event and not weeks ahead.
